The Ringtail Possum and bushtail possum are well known to many Sydney residents often seen in suburban gardens at night. These Australian natives are protected animals and require permits when trapping and removal is required as any form of eradication is against the law.
Ringtail Possum
Ringtail Possum is grey with white patches behind the eyes and on the belly, and orange-brown tinges on the tail and limbs. Its long prehensile tail has a white tip and it uses it to climb and jump between branches, fences and power lines. There body is designed to allow the possum to hold onto branches securely. Live in trees and found in areas where forests and woodlands present. Size range from 600mm from head to tail

Common Brushtail Possum
The Common Brushtail Possum is probably the best known of the possums in Sydney because it has adapted to urban living and often comes into contact with people. Sizes are around 55cm
Common Brushtail Possums live in urban areas, forests. Brushtail Possum eats leaves, blossoms and fruits, but has been known to eat almost anything when found living in the suburb areas. The Common Brushtail Possum is nocturnal and, during the day, retreats to a dark area.

Silverfish are nocturnal, hiding during the day and coming out at night to feed. When in a premises they can damage books paper and clothing due to the starchy glues and sizing on these products.
